Snowboard - Flow 2011 Boots Trends
Regarding price points, where is your brand going? more? less?
We will keep our existing price structure, but will ad a new high end boot model to the line which will become the benchmark for upcoming Flow boot models at any price point in the line
Colorways/prints/patterns/influences/textures ?
Goal is to have a rich looking boot which someone wants to pick up from the shelf. Either the material story or the color story gives the boot the extra. We will have both for upcoming season. Influences have been from more technical designs to more fashion driven styles
Going more freestyle? more freeride?
Both. We will have boots for every kind of rider, with specific features such as dampening or articulating cuffs
Flexibility?
Again we cover the complete spectrum from soft to supportive, but also we will have differentiations within the FS and FR category
Liners: new developments?
For the first time ever Flow is introducing a thermo-moldable liner offering that includes a self-molding insole, which greatly reduces foot fatigue, plus a Vented tongue to keep your feet dry with centering Velcro positioning tabs
Going eco-friendly? Recycling/friendly materials/eliminating waste?
We’ve focused on sustainability just because we prefer an untracked powder run to bulletproof man-made snow. High yield patterns and reduced layering eliminates excess materials and reduces weight. We’re using textiles with 35%-40% PET, a recycled material made from plastic bottles and other post consumer waste. Other recycled components are our reinforcement materials and strobel boards. Our focus on durability and quality materials ensures that your boots will last
Features? Quick lacing system? Funky BOA?
We will feature all available lacing systems: traditional lace, boa coiler, boa focus, QuickFit (2Zone Qucik Lace system) and the new pat. pend. ZipFit (Our new proprietary and patent pending lacing technology for the internal harness. A Z-pattern tightening system eliminates lace crossover for reduced friction and allows a more anatomical fit around the ankle. And new cleat locks in your ideal fit and exposed access allows you to tighten or loosen the internal harness without having to unlace your boot)
What makes the consumer choose your boots over the competitor’s?
Great fit, long lasting performance, the high quality liners and the various lacing options on each boot model
Girls boots – what are you doing to cater to female foot shapes/colour preferences?
Girls do get their own line starting with a girls specific last and ending with a girls specfic outerboot. The material selection is targeted twoards a girls/active womens and ties in nicely with all other Flow product categories but still boots are a stand alone product.
